The Communist Party of the Russian Federation, together with the Left Front and The American Communist Party, paid respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The event marks the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland, or the 'Day of Defender's,' a public holiday in Russia which was first established during the days of the USSR. It was first dedicated to those heroes who sacrificed their lives during the Russian Civil War, and later also the Great Patriotic War. The event was attended by The Revolution Report contributor and American Communist Party member, Nicholas Reed.
